Juno Kim B.Sc., Ph.D.
My
research
is concerned with understanding how we visually appreciate the physical properties of objects and
surfaces in the
world around us. The structure in light we receive in the form of images is informative
of
static properties of surfaces (e.g., shape, lightness, glossiness,
translucency), and changes in the structure of this light is informative of how
entities in
the world (including ourselves) actually move.
Below you can find some
gif animations
and publications from my research on the perception
of surface properties and the perception of self-motion.
Software that I have created and released for research/teaching purposes can be obtained on request.
If you need any advice or to contact me for further information, please email me here: juno.kim@unsw.edu.au.
